Wow, this is so cool! I didn’t know blogs were a thing. Or for that matter, that computers were a thing. Actually, there are probably a ton of things I don’t know are things because, well, this whole “life” thing is pretty new to me.
Maybe if I back up, it will make more sense…
Hi.
My name is Dusty. That’s short for my cool-sounding full name, which is “CedarWoods’ Seven Cups of Stardust.” I go by Dusty because it take too long to introduce myself all the time with my full name, and I’m almost always in a hurry. I’ll tell you where my full name came from in another post.
I was born September 5, 2023 in eastern Missouri. My mom’s name was Bay, and she took good care of me until some really loving humans took over while I waited to be adopted. Kind of like my practice mom and dad, sort of.
I literally waited a lifetime to be adopted! I was ten weeks old when my practice mom and dad said my brother and I were going to go for a ride. (My brother’s name was Joker, and he looked almost like me except he had a different fur pattern on his front legs.)
We drove for a couple of days until we met a couple of strangers at a really busy dog training place about an hour from our house. (I know, I know, time is weird for dogs. You’ll get used to it.)
The strangers were really tall, and they brought a funny looking black test dog with them. I figured out right away that the black dog was the one I had to win over, because dogs always make the rules. I knew if that dog was ok with me, I was good to go.
We talked and played for awhile, and I knew I was going to like the bald one because he got right down on the ground and played with us and let me lick his head. That’s always a good sign. You can’t ever go wrong with a salty head. He kept switching back and forth between Joker and me, but I won him over by using all my wiggly cuteness until I wore myself out.
Then we drove to a little park where it was less chaotic and I got to walk around with the other stranger (who has long hair that I’m apparently not supposed to chew on) and spend some more time with the black dog (who is called Raven, even though she doesn’t really look like a bird).
Before I knew it, they loaded my little travel kennel up in my new mom & dad’s truck, I said goodbye to my practice mom and dad, and off we went. My new home was twice as far away as my old home, so we had to drive for a whole week! I slept most of the way though, and two hours later we were stopping at a pet store to buy a water bowl for me. Time flies when you’re having, um, naps!
So as of November 19, 2023, I’ve found my forever home. Yay me!
Thanks for stopping by!
-Dusty
