I was trying to think of something to write about, since I haven’t really done anything wildly exciting lately.
So I lay on my tummy and thought about it.
Then I rolled over on one side to see if there was an idea over there. Nope.
So I rolled over on the other side and also smooshed my face into the bed and flipped it over. Still no ideas… but now my bed was uncomfortable.
So I jumped up on the mom and dad’s bed and did my best pro wrestling move and pounced on Raven from above.
Then I remembered… it’s Spring! (Get it, spring off the bed…)
Springtime means lots of things to do before it gets super hot outside, so here’s what we’ve been up to lately.
I got to go shopping at REI. I think I put this picture on Facebook, but what I didn’t mention was that evidently there’s a sign on the front door that says “service dogs only” that we didn’t notice. But all the employees were super friendly and thought I was great and said they sort of ignore that rule if the dog (that’s me) is well-behaved and super pet-able (I’m totally that).

Since I was in there shopping anyway, I picked out some treats to purchase. I mean they can hardly say no to dogs if the dogs are shopping too right? I try to support the local economy when I can. 🙂
Since REI is pretty close to a Torchy’s Tacos, that was our next stop. Unfortunately I couldn’t go inside, so I waited in the car until they came out on the patio and then I joined them.

I love my expression in that photo. And no, I didn’t go for it.
Another day, we all went down to the Brookside Art Fair, which is a neighborhood in Kansas City. They bring in a bunch of artists as a way to attract people to pet the dogs that show up to look at the art.

At one booth, while I was waiting for mom and dad to finish wheeling and dealing I found this cool sign! I think cats definitely should have a cover charge. Squirrels too.

After the art fair, we decided to find another stop on mom and dad’s “Tap Tour.” Have I explained that yet? Maybe not.
The “Tap Tour” is a Kansas City thing where you get a free drink or discount or something at a bunch of different breweries in the area. So when they’re in a different area of town, they go find one of the breweries and check it off the list. Each stop is worth points, and if you collect enough points (i.e., visit enough of the sponsoring breweries) you get to go to the end of year party and can sign up for the next year for half price. Full price is only $10, so it pays for itself in no time.
Since a lot of breweries allow dogs, I get to meet lots of people. That’s how we found Fringe Brewing, which we really like. They’re so dog-friendly they have a giant dog treat vending machine!
Anyway, today we stopped by Strange Days Brewing and mom took this great photo of dad and me.

Dad tried to get one of mom too, but I sort of didn’t cooperate as well. There was something outside I was looking at but I don’t remember what.

Lastly, since I’m a jeep-dog now, I suggested mom and dad take me to a “Go Topless Day” event. Dad was super excited until he found out the topless part only applied to the jeeps.
We went with a local group we belong to called Midwest Krawlers. There were about 100 jeeps there, and we pretty much took over the whole shelter area around the lake.

Here’s a video dad took, and there were even more people parked on the other side of the shelter!
I think these guys were trying to save parking spaces.

Mom was one of the volunteers that helped serve food, so I got to hang out with dad under the trees for awhile.

There was also a giant duck there. It was given to the club by Barricade because apparently last year, Midwest Krawlers had the best turnout of any of the groups Barricade sponsors.

I think summer is off to a pretty good start!
